Donna Lou Carter, 81, of Poca, went to be with her Lord on January 10, 2011 at Dunbar Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She lived in Ocala Florida and attended the Williston Church of God. After moving back to Poca she attended the Cornerstone Church of God and the Dunbar Mountain Mission. Mrs. Carter was retired from the West Virginia Water Company.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Donald and Leola Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Leslie E. Carter and brother, the Rev. Donald Edward Williams, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Oklahoma. Also surviving are her nephews, Mark Williams and wife, Dawn, Michael Williams and wife, Karen, the Rev. James Williams and wife, Cindi of Oklahoma; one niece, Deborah Loyd and husband, Danny of Oklahoma; ten great nephews and nieces and seven great great nieces and nephews of Oklahoma; cousin, Virginia Bucher and husband, Bud of Poca, WV; stepchildren, Nadine Asbury of Columbus, John Carter and wife, Patty of Charleston, Sue Pierce and husband, Jim of Columbus, OH, Charles Carter and wife, Mona of Decatur, Ill. and Velma Sisk and husband, Fred of Poca. She had 13 step grandchildren, 19 great step grandchildren, and has one great great granddaughter due in May of this year.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 14, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. James Phillips officiating. Entombment will follow in the Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
