Donna Sue Pauley, 77, of South Charleston, WV, passed away on August 5, 2025, after a long illness.

She was the youngest of ten children born in South Charleston to the late Elish and Mary (Tucker) Johnson.

A graduate of South Charleston High School, Donna spent her life caring for others.  She was a dedicated homemaker, and later worked as a housekeeper at Thomas Hospital retiring after more than 20 years of service. Donna never met a stranger—she could strike up a conversation with anyone and was always eager to lend a helping hand.  She was a mother and friend to many.  Donna loved nothing more than a good cup of coffee shared over conversations with those she loved.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Robert Pauley; her very special furry companion, Kozmo; siblings, Mallie, Valley, Frieda, Violet, Holbert, and Minor; as well as many dear nephews and friends who are waiting to welcome her to Heaven.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Dreama Pauley of Beckley, Beverly Jones of South Charleston, and Jim Pauley (Lisa) of Myrtle Beach, SC; her six grandchildren, Malinda, Taylur, Oronde, Jawan, Daelyn, and James III; her three sisters, Sylvia, Carrie, and Sybil; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins;  along with a great-grand baby on the way—a blessing she was overjoyed to anticipate.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Thomas Hospital ICU and 4th floor staff for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Donna in her final days.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in Fox Hill Cemetery will Pastor Kent Estep officiating.

Friends and family are warmly welcomed to attend.
