Dora Imogene "Jeanne" Burdette, of Sissonville, passed away June 21, 2013 at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Jeanne was born in Kanawha County to the late Glenn and Delores Hughart. Jeanne was a homemaker and Christian. She loved her home and spending time there with her husband, Steve. She had a passion for tracking her genealogy. Over the years she found many of her family members and connected with them. Jeanne enjoyed sharing and receiving old family photos. She was also quite the prankster. Jeanne loved making people laugh. She always had funny unique gifts and ideas for everyone she knew. She loved going junking, as she called it, and going to yard sales. Most of all, Jeanne loved spending time with her three grandsons. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Travis Burdette; brothers, William and Dennis Hughart; and niece, Tammy Dolder.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Waitman "Steve" Burdette; son, Stephen "Scott" Burdette and wife Sara; grandsons, Jared, Jacob, and Jace Burdette all from Sissonville; and sister, Linda Klein of Hart, Michigan.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Reverend Harold Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Burdette Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 24, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
