Doris Marie Bausley Peaks, 87, of Winona passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.
She was a member of the Hico Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and later attended the Dunbar Congregation. Doris was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and crafts; but what she was most proud of was her children. She loved to shop and talk to family and friends. Doris never met a stranger and never forgot a name. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elmer U. Peaks, Sr.; daughter, Gwendolyn Harris; parents, Isaiah and Lora Bausley; brothers, Wadell and Tallmadge Bausley; and twin, William Bausley.
Doris is survived by her sons, Elmer Peaks, Jr. (Darlene) and Derrick Peaks, Sr.; daughters, Marcia Peters, Patrice Groom (Kenneth), and Kim Avery (Dennis); sister, Columbia Wilson; special son-in-law, Marvin Harris; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, June 2 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Dennis Avery officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, June 2 at Locust Lane Cemetery, Lookout.
