Dorothy Hamilton Corbin, of Dunbar, passed away at her home on Monday, August 10, 2009.
She was born in Dunbar to Rome and Ellen Hamilton on January 15, 1920. She was the wife of the late Raymond P. Corbin. Dorothy graduated valedictorian of Union District High School (which later became Dunbar High School) and then later graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse for the office of the late Dr. Ward Harshbarger. She retired in 1985 to join the Peace Corps.
She was the beloved mother of Ronald Corbin of Dunbar, David Corbin, his wife, Candace Beckett, of Annapolis, MD and Debra "Dee" Price of Kenova; the beloved grandmother of Dottie Gibbs, her husband, Larry, Donald Corbin, Matthew Price, his wife Jessica, Megan Price and Joel Price; beloved great-grandmother of Brian and Bradley Gibbs. She is also survived by her sister, Lee Russell, and brothers, Robert and Gene Hamilton.
To those who knew her, she was the perfect example of a mother, grandmother and friend.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, at Dunbar United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Okey Harless officiating.
The visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 11 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Dunbar United Methodist Church or Kenova United Methodist Church.
