Dorothy Frances Miller Dolin, 87, a lifelong resident of Dunbar, passed away at Hubbard Hospice House West on November 18, 2012 after a long illness.

She was born to the late Harry and Katie Miller on January 22, 1925. She started working at Cohen Drug Store, Dunbar in 1936 at the age of 14. She later worked for Frankenburgers, Coyle and Richardson, West Virginia Tax Department, and then retired from Saint Francis Hospital in 1984, as a switchboard operator.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Claude S. Dolin; daughter, Claudia Frances; sisters, Cora "Dollie" Ellis of Seaford, DE, Marguerite Cavander of Punta Gorda, FL, Betty Harmon of St. Louis, MO, Westine Smith of Dunbar, Lillian Miller of Dunbar, and Daisy Titcher of Cross Lanes; brother, Paul Miller of Charleston.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan G. Whaples and her husband Fred of Dunbar; grandsons, Shannon of Lawrenceville, GA, Fred of Concord, NC, and Brandon of Concord, NC; great grandchildren, Emily, Michael, Bobby, Andrew, Brady, Lydia, Stephanie, Kattie, Malissie, and Morgan; sister, Louise Martin of Alhambra, CA; brother-in-laws, Keith Dolin of St. Albans, and Rand Dolin Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Shirley Echerman of Norfolk, VA.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, at Keller Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Okey Harless and Reverend Arley Cravaens officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to service at Keller Funeral Home.
