Dorothy L. Groves, 83, of Dunbar, departed this life on April 10, 2006, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation for Dunbar.

She was a former secretary for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Mrs. Groves was a member of First Baptist Church, Dunbar, where she had served on the Deaconess Board and was past Worthy Matron of the Dunbar Chapter #133 of the Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge where she had served as Past President of the Rebekah Assembly of WV. She was a native of Goochland County, Va. and had been a resident of Dunbar for 50 years.

Surviving are her brothers, Charles Williamson of Columbia, Va. and Carl Williamson of Rockville, Md.; sisters, Gene Bricker, Alice Coor and Mary Mathias, all of Richmond, Va. and Lillie Ezell of Utica, Ky.

Mrs. Groves family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation for Dunbar for the wonderful care they gave Dorothy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 16th Street & Myers Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Thomas E. Stevens, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, where there will be an Order of Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
