Dorothy "Dot" Young, born November 18, 1926 in Diana, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Monday, January 12, 2015, following a long illness.

Dot worked for many years at the Daniel Boone Hotel in the snack bar, and then later worked at CAMC General in the cafeteria before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lewis and Eva Stout; brothers, Arden, Howard, Clarence and Arthur "John" Stout; sisters, Virginia Stout, Lula Mcle, Maime Anderson and Nina Cunningham.

She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Barker (husband, Larry) of Dunbar; brother, Willard Stout of Diana; grandchildren, Cristina Burdette of South Charleston, James Richards of Louisville, Kentucky and Brian Barker of Dunbar; great grandchildren, Taylor, Noah and Colin Burdette, Jordan Sibold and Josie Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to her long-time caregiver, Beverly Moore, and the wonderful staff of HospiceCare.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Reverend Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
