Dorse Cross, Sr., 94, of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 16, 2023.

He was born on April 29, 1929, in Nebo, to the late Oscar and Mamie Cross.

Dorse enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was very proud of his '49' Packard.  He worked as a manager for the A & P Grocery for about 30 years.  He retired from Nite Owl Superette in Spring Hill.  He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Cross;  daughter, Karen Koon (Clarence);  and each of his brothers and sisters.

Dorse is survived by his daughter, Darleen Caldwell (John) of St. Albans; son, Dorse Cross, Jr. (Gina) of Tornado; nephew, Richard Guannoe of St. Albans; grandchildren, Christene Nemeth, Becky Koon-Adkins, Dave Osborne, Doug Osborne, Joe Cross, Jimmy Cross, Joshua Cross, TJ Caldwell, and Tasha Caldwell; along with twenty great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 22, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Chuck Pennington officiation.  Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may visit form 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
