Dorsey Lane "Dawes" Mallory, 70, of Taylor, Michigan, passed away July 21, 2013 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan, after a short illness.
He was born August 15, 1942 in South Charleston, to the late Elmer and Hester Clark Mallory.
Dawes worked for 25 years for McCloud Steel and retired from Shiloh Steel in Michigan. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved conversation, classic cars and country music.
Everyone who met him enjoyed his company. He visited his family in WV very often. We all love him deeply and will miss him forever.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie, sisters, Joann and Lois, brothers, Elvin and Maurice Mallory and father-in-law, Luther Warren.
Surviving is his wife, Nancy, step-daughters, Mandy (Matt) of Taylor, Michigan, Kimmy (Carl) of Jacksonville, Florida, step-son, Josh of Marrietta, Georgia, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, two step-grandchildren, Layne and Bronson, twin brother, Robert, sisters, Lucille, Jean and Mae of South Charleston and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 26, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Gene Pauley officiating. Burial will follow in Mallory Family Cemetery, South Charleston.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
