Dortha Louise "Dottie" (Painter) Fisher, 83 of Cross Lanes died Tuesday, April 8, 2014.
She was a homemaker, a Christian and a former choir member.
Mom was a typical homemaker of the 50's. As a stay at home mother she managed to raise her children between cooking, cleaning, canning vegetables, sewing clothes, quilts and costumes. While helping to care for her mother-in-law and still managing to be active in the church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, T. Clay Fisher; her brothers, William "Billy" Painter, Doyle "Sonny" Painter, and her sister, Janieve "Jenny" St. Clair and her parents, Satis O. and Lola L. (Stone) Painter.
She is survived by her 4 daughters, Gayle Toney of Cross Lanes, Renee Coleman of Foley, Alabama, Kimberly Barker of Cross Lanes, Linda Thomas of Poca; 10 grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Daniel Moore, William Toney, Sarah (Thomas) Schumacher, Rebekah Toney, Jacob Thomas, Walter Coleman, Hannah (Thomas) Young, Katie Holmes, and Jamie Holmes; one great-grandchild, Alex Moore.
Special thanks to mom's caregiver and friend, Martha Toler.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Reverend Al Mendez and Pastor Paul Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
