Douglas Wayne Ennis, 66, of Pliny, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 25, 2017.

He was born August 26, 1950 in Charleston to the late Charles Ennis and Jewel Johnson Garton.

He was a great man of God who loved his church and cherished his family. Doug was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting, fishing, and camping.

Doug is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon Ennis; daughters, Sarah Pauline Ennis and Melanie Fay Stevens (Danny); son, Gilbert Wayne Ennis; grandchildren, Tyler Ennis (Kaitlyn), Adam New, Ella Stevens, Harley Ray Stevens, Isaac Ennis, Avalee Jarett, Zach New, Savana New Violet Stevens, and Carter Stevens; great-grandson Mason Ennis. There were many others that considered him to be their Dad and Pap Pap – too many to name.

Doug was dearly loved and will be missed by all that knew him.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29 at Hometown Apostolic Church. Burial will be held at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 28 at Hometown Apostolic Church
