Douglas McArthur "Bunchie" Hartwell, 73, of Liberty, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018.

He was born on July 18, 1944, in Charleston, to the late Roland and Nora Hartwell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Glenn Hartwell, Delmer Hartwell and George Hartwell.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Danna Jo Hartwell; daughters, Heather Marcum and husband, Scott, of Liberty, Marcie Landers and husband, Butch, of Red House, Teonia Whittaker of Poca; sons, Douglas "Wade" Hartwell of South Carolina, Benjamin Stamper of Liberty; sisters, Mary Knuckles of Pliney, Claire Lynon and husband, Michael, of Cross Lanes; brothers, Ward "Butch" Hartwell and wife, Wanda, of South Charleston, Roger Hartwell and wife, Doris, of South Charleston; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Scott Casto officiating. Burial will follow in Fox Hill Cemetery, South Charleston,

Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
