Obituary

Drema Mosby, 81, of Institute, WV, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Hubbard Hospice House.

Born on December 25, 1942, in Fayetteville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harry H. Mosby and Helen Gore Mosby.

She earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in English from West Virginia State College (University) and dedicated her life to teaching.  Drema served in various professional roles, but remained an enduring steward of kindness.  She was known for her faithfulness, both in her church and within her family, offering prayers and compassionate care.  Drema embodied a deeply spiritual essence, radiating the love of God in all she did.  Her profound affection for her family and community was evident in every gesture and interaction.  Alongside her devotion to her faith, she found joy in simple pleasures such as reading, cooking, unraveling crossword puzzles, and endearing herself to loved ones through affectionate nicknames.  During her earlier years, Drema embraced the wanderlust spirit, delighting in explorations that took her to captivating destinations around the globe, including the enchanting shores of the Bahamas and Jamaica, the scenic landscapes of Canada, the historical richness of Italy, and various vibrant cities across the United States.  Her home was adored with an extensive collection of angels, reflecting her unwavering belief in divine guidance and protection.  Drema possessed a remarkable gift for infusing tranquility into the lives of those around her, offering solace and comfort with her gentle presence.  Her legacy is one of faith, love and a profound ability to spread peace to all who crossed her path.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry H. Mosby II; sisters, Barbara M. Cotton, Linda Davis, and Dr. Gail Mosby.

Drema is survived by her sister, Alyson Andrew (Will) of Crystal Coast, N.C.; brother, Charles Mosby of Saint Albans, WV; nephew, Erech Cotton (Tonya) of Scott Depot, WV; four nieces, Sonya Mosby of Yipsalanti, MI, Tasha Jimenez (Luis) of Saginaw, MI, Ceateetra Booker of Charlotte, NC, and Dr. Jerica Wesley (Jonathan) of Dunbar, WV.

A funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Elder William Brooks officiating.

Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar 1236 Myers Ave, Dunbar, WV.
