Drucilla "Micki" Walden Taylor, 91, of Dunbar, died May 2, 2014, at Hubbard Hospice House West in South Charleston.
She was born May 22, 1922, in Guthrie, WV to Henry Harrison Walden (now deceased) and Mary Frances Hughart (now deceased).
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William Archie Taylor; and her brothers, Henry Harrison, Jr. and Thomas Harvey; her sisters, Arvilla Walden, Deloris Leegan, Jo Ann Lowther, Loraine A. Jenkins, Lillian Gertrude Finny and Virginia Ray.
Micki was the interior decorator for Taylor Built Homes which she operated with her husband. She loved being with family and friends reminiscing about the old days, playing board games and reading. Micki was a Christian and had attended different churches in the area until she became too ill to attend.
She is survived by her daughter, Karin Elaine (Taylor) Preston and son-in-law, Charles "Mike" Preston of Idaho; sisters-in-law, Erma Pickens and Imogene Walden of Charleston; nieces, Rose Miragliotta Painter and husband, Frederick of Texas; Tammie Ray and husband, Chuck of Texas, Joyce O'Kelly and husband, James of South Carolina, Linda Coe of St. Albans, Connie Marino of Charleston, Deb Saunders and husband, John of Charleston; nephews, David Miragliotta and wife, Bonny of Virginia, Butch Ray and wife, Judy of Dunbar; Florida residents, Donald McClurg and wife, Barbara, Jerry McClurg and wife, Judy, Larry McClurg and Mike Leegan and wife, Tara of Virginia, Tim Leegan of Montana, Terry Leegan of Florida; first cousins, Phyllis Cooper of Dunbar, George Tyree and wife, Carol of Charleston, foster daughter, Peggy Nyiro and husband, Imre of Florida, grand niece, Sarah Painter and numerous other grand and great grand nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her devoted caregiver, Connie Atkinson.
There will be a viewing on Sunday, May 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
The funeral will be on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in South Charleston.
