Eddie Woods of Dunbar, formerly of Sharon, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Hospice Hubbard House West after a 6 year battle with ALS.

Eddie was born in Canton, OH on April 29, 1956 to Earl Owen and Myrtle Marie Woods.

Before his illness, Eddie loved to bowl and was on 2 bowling leagues at Dunbar Lanes. You could see him riding his bicycle around the city of Dunbar come rain or shine. He was a member of Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle for more than 30 years. He loved his church family and was active in their youth program and was excited about the new church building currently under construction. He loved going to church camp. He was an avid West Virginia University and Cincinnati Reds fan!

Eddie is proceeded in death by his dad, Earl Owen Woods; his paternal grandparents, Owen and Myrtle Woods; and his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Irene Wright.

He was loved and is survived by his Mom, Myrtle Woods of Sharon, WV.; his sisters, Earla(Larry) Boyd of Richmond, IN, Terri Smith of St. Albans, and Lynda Morningstar of Scott Depot. He is also survived by the nieces and nephews that he dearly loved, Jared Boyd, Blaine Boyd, Brent Boyd, Jessica Boyd Davis, Stephanie Smith Carter, Ashley Smith Kincaid, Sydney Smith, Tara Treadway Bays, Tyler Pauley, Ally Morningstar and Owen Morningstar; and many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and great nieces and nephews.

The family wants to thank the staff of ResCare, ICF and Hubbard House West for all the love and care that they provided to Eddie over the past several years. You all are very special people and Eddie loved you all.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 13 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. Tom Price and Mr. Larry Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Eddie's name to Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle building fund, 1852 Roxalana Road, Dunbar, WV 25064.
