Edward A. Mobley, Sr., 70, of South Charleston, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Hubbard Hospice House after a long illness.
He was born on June 21, 1939 in Acme, WV and was the son of the late Levi and Martha Mobley of Cabin Creek. Edward was retired from Evans Lumber Company and was a former member of the WV Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Payne of Chelyan.
Survivors include his son, Edward Mobley, Jr. and his wife, Melissa of Charleston; sister, Edith Payne whose late husband was Robert Payne of Dunbar; brothers, James Mobley and his wife, Nancy of Dunbar, Donald Mobley and his wife, Glenda of Chelyan, Levi Mobley of Barboursville and Kenneth Mobley of Mattatoisett, Mass; grandsons, Michael and Guy Mobley of Nitro, John Thurmond of Charleston; granddaughter, Grace Mobley of Nitro and great granddaughter, Kaylee Thurmond of Poca. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Doyle D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
