Obituary

Elberta Ann Jackson, 88, of Charleston, WV, went home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2025 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Charleston, WV to the late Reverend Tom and Parsie Goff.

Elberta was a graduate of Dunbar High School, and was retired from Allstate Insurance Company.  She liked  to sew and play piano, but most of all Elberta enjoyed being with her family and grandkids. She attended many churches with her late husband where she ministered through playing the piano.  Elberta last attended Cornerstone Community Church where she was the piano player for the last several years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Reverend Billy Jackson; her brother, Roy "Sonny" Parrish; half-sister, Pete Alley; half-brothers, Lloyd and Harold Goff.

Elberta is survived by her sister, Sue Johnson; children, Carol Mace (Steve), Jeanne Hunt (Jimmy), Kelly Lowers (Robert), Billie Jo Smith (Don), J.R. Jackson (Michelle).  She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, along with a host of friends and other family.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice for the loving compassionate care they gave to our Mother.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor John Hudson officiating..  Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens.

Family will welcome visitors one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
