Eli J. "Jack" Wooten, 80, of Cross Lanes, passed away Saturday May 14, 2016 after a long illness.
He was born September 1, 1935 in Jumping Branch, WV, to the late Thomas and Alta Esse Wooten.
Jack was a member of the Nitro Moose Lodge #565 and the Nitro Senior Center where he enjoyed playing bingo. He retired from AEP as a relay specialist after 42 years of service. He was a United States Army veteran where he served as a medic.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman Wooten, Glen Wooten, Jeff Wooten and Lonnie Ray Wooten; sisters, Bertha Wooten, Anna Bell Pack and Goldie Wills.
He is survived by his wife of 58 ½ years, Carolyn Campbell Wooten; sons, Gary Wooten and wife, Terry, of Scott Depot, Rodger Wooten of Cross Lanes; daughters, Julie McQuain and husband, Dale, of Richmond, KY, Susan Wooten of Charleston; sister, Florance Jarrett of Athens; grandchildren, Rachelle, Eli, Alan, Samantha, Matthew, Asher, and Angel.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Dr. Okey Harless officiating. There will be a private family entombment in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens at a later date.
Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
