Elke Jutta Boyd, 78, of Cross Lanes, passed away on December 11, 2025, in Charleston.

She was born on April 16, 1947, in Furth, Germany, to the late Richard and Frieda Fitzinger.

Elke was a supportive military spouse, a beloved mother, and a good friend to her Pillsbury coworkers and to many others. She was a wonderful cook and baker and loved to feed the birds. She was generous and always found joy in helping others. Becoming a great-grandmother brought her great joy, and she could not have been more proud of the people her grandchildren became.

Elke was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sheldon.

She is survived by her children, William (Diana) of Lawton, OK, and Brenda (Mark) of Cross Lanes; her sisters, Lotte and Marika of Furth, Germany; her grandchildren, Corey (Chelsea), Anthony (Genevieve), and Erica; and her great-grandson, Arthur.

The family will share plans to honor and remember Elke at a later date.
