Obituary

The Honorable Eloise Jack, 90, of South Charleston departed this world on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Hubbard Hospice House West.

Eloise was one of first women to have worked for the Charleston Fire Department as a Switchboard Operator. She also worked at RCA, was director of Black Diamond Girl Scout Council, and then was Director of Small Business Economic Development for the State of West Virginia under four different governors. Eloise was most recently appointed as a West Virginia State Senator for Kanawha County by Governor Tomblin.

Eloise was involved in numerous organizations and committees including The West Virginia Board of Realtors and past President of The Democrat Women of Kanawha County. She was appointed Democratic Woman of the year, and was elected to the Democrat Executive Committee for Kanawha County and South Charleston. Eloise was also a member of the Dunbar's Women's Club.
She was a member of Dunbar First Baptist Church where she served as Deaconess, Treasurer, and was on the Finance Committee.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Floyd "Bud" Jack; parents, Ode and Hallie Hamon; and sisters, Janet Scott and Betty Walker.
Eloise is survived by her daughters, Diane (Larry) Wilder and Linda (Sam) Wood; son, Larry (Sherry) Jack; grandchildren, Azuree Kuhn, Cain Wilder, Josh Jack, and Samuel Wood; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Alexandra and Mackenzie Salerno, Reed, and Lila Wilder. She is also survived by numerous friends, especially, Vonda and Dorothea.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 28 at Dunbar First Baptist Church, 16th Street and Myers Ave., Dunbar with the Rev. Jason Quintrell and the Rev. Tom Stevens officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Hubbard Hospice House West for their loving care.
