Elton Louis Holt, 58, of Dunbar and formerly of Memphis, TN passed away on April 7, 2016.
Elton was a graduate of Northside High School, Memphis TN, served his country in the United States Army, and has been a carpenter for forty years.
Elton was a long time member of the gospel group, Memphis Harmonizers.
He confessed his life to the Lord at New Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Summerall. He later joined Greater Kerr in Memphis, TN under the leadership of Pastor James Haley.
Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jearline Holt; paternal grandparents, Rev. C.B. and Ethel Holt; maternal grandparents, JP and Lucille Childs; brother, Myron Redmond.
Survived by his wife, Shaqueeta Robinson-Holt; their daughter, JacQuela Holt of Dunbar and step-son, Elias Stanley of St. Albans; his children, Chole "Danielle" Holt (Kendrick) of Memphis, TN, Vonzella Jenkins of Surprise, AR, Terrance Holt of Memphis, TN, Rico Holt of Memphis, TN, and Garrett Holt of Memphis, TN; brothers, Jerry Holt Sr., Curtis Redmond, and Richard Walker all of Memphis, TN; four grandchildren; four uncles; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Elton had a special place in our hearts and will be sadly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
