Obituary

Elton Wesley Knuckles, 83, of South Charleston passed away at Hubbard Hospice House West on Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

He was retired after 25 years as a welder from ACF Industries in Huntington. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of VFW Post 4768 of Alum Creek. Elton served as a Deacon at Hilltop Baptist Church and was also an avid sportsman.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jane Knuckles; stepson, Bill Oxley; brother, John Knuckles; sisters, Levia Walton, Dora Turley, Hannah Moles and Geneva Knuckles.

Elton is survived by his wife, Lesta Mae Knuckles; sons, Terry Knuckles and wife, Judy, of Charleston, Gregory Knuckles and wife, Debbie, of South Charleston; daughters, Teresa Clark of St. Albans, Robin Spencer and husband, David, of Tornado; stepson, Mark Oxley and wife, Nancy of Winter Springs, Fla.; sister, Louanna McCune of South Charleston; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 28, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Jim Lennox and Pastor David Vanhorn officiating. Burial will follow in Orchard Hill Memory Gardens, Yawkey.

Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 27 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
