Emma Ruth Hammack, 88, of Cross Lanes, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Hubbard Hospice House after a long illness.
She was a former sales person for Stone & Thomas Department Store. She was a foster grandparent for many years and also was a caregiver for 20 years.
Mrs. Hammack was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Elkins Hammack and daughter, Judith Rich.
She is survived by her son, Larry Hammack and his wife, Beverly of Pinch; daughter, Shari Ward of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Joel Hammack Rich of Streator, IL, Debra Ward of Philadelphia, Pa, Christopher Hammack and his wife, Sandra of Charlotte, NC, Nicole Allen of Charleston and Cynthia Parsons and her husband Jonathan of St. Albans; great grandchildren, Kinsington Hammack-McClure and Anthony Hammack-McClure, both of St. Albans.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Mike Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Hills Memorial Park.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
