Obituary

Emma W. Stephens, 100, formerly of Dunbar and Nitro, went to be with family and friends on January 26, 2015, at Broadmore Assisted Living, Hurricane.

She was a member of the former A.J. Humphries Memorial United Methodist Church, which is now Dunbar United Methodist Church. She was retired from Union Carbide, Institute, with 27 years of service. She was a charter member of the Sleepy Hollow Golf Club since 1938, a founding member of the Thirteen Club of Dunbar, and a graduate of Dunbar High School Class of 1935.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Carl A. and Verdia (Barnett) Warner; her husband, Ray H. Stephens; grandson, Mark W. Stephens; brothers, Gay N. Warner (Nitro), (baby) Jay, Ralph E. Warner (Point Pleasant).

Surviving are her son, Steve and daughter-in-law Phyllis Stephens of Scott Depot; sister, Donna Kelly of Eleanor; many nieces and nephews; special cousin, Charlene Hoback of Cross Lanes; and devoted friends Karen and Charles Britt of St. Albans

A very special thank you to the staff of Broadmore Assisted Living who gave Emma tender love and care throughout her stay.

Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 2 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service Monday at Keller Funeral Home.
