Emmett Radford Miller, 92, of South Charleston, died peacefully Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the Hubbard Hospice House after a short illness.
Emmett was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in St. Albans and the Charleston Local #625, Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He served in combat with the US Army in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Miller; parents, Radford and Cora Miller; son-in-law, Thomas Pauley; son, Robert Miller; grandson, Joseph Pauley, II; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn and Sidney McGee, Ann and Dick Moran, brother-in-law, George Hamilton; sister-in-law, Julia Miller.
Emmett is survived by his loving daughters, Carol Anderson and her husband, Rocky and Jane Coleman and her husband, Garry of Charleston; brother, Fred Miller; sister, Louise Hamilton; six grandchildren, Greg, David, Joe, Garry, Melissa and Corey; five great grandchildren, Tiffany, Morgan, Logan, Isaiah and Brandon; loving nieces, nephews and his sweet friend, Bubbles.
Graveside services with military rites will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, November 17, at Cunningham Memorial Park Lower Mausoleum Chapel, St. Albans, with the Rev. Fairley McCormick officiating.
There will be no visitation.
