Ervin E. Monday of South Charleston departed this life on October 16, 2008 at the Hubbard Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 9, 1940 in Sissonville and was the son of the late Guy W. and Lola Fisher Monday. He was also predeceased by his brother, Glen, and sister, Leunice Dillard.
Ervin graduated from Sissonville High School and was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He retired from DuPont in 2001.
He is survived by his wife Jane Monk Monday, daughter, Lora (Scott) Davie, son, Rodney and stepson, Jeff Honaker. He was the grandfather of five grandchildren, James Davie, Alexandra Monday, Erica, Jeff, Jr. and Ellen Honaker, his sister, Janet Lewis of Canton, Ohio, brothers, Carroll of Culloden, and Darrell of Sissonville.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 19, at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar with the Reverend Billy Casto officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Memorial Park, Ruthdale.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 18, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
