Esther L. Kerns, 85, of South Charleston, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008 at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Dunbar.
She was born in Blue Creek, WV on January 13, 1923 to the late Anderson and Rosa Phillips. Mrs. Kerns was a retired LPN with CAMC and attended the First Church of the Nazarene in South Charleston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Kerns; brothers, Glen and Kemp Phillips and by her sisters, Dorothy Grimes and Madeline Thornton.
Surviving are her sisters, Bethel E. Ray and Betty D. Wiseman of South Charleston. She is also survived by her six nephews and several great nephews and five nieces and several great nieces.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 14, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Kent Estep officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 13, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
