Obituary

Ethel Mae Rinick, 93, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009 at SunBridge of Dunbar.

She was born in Somerset, Pa. and resided in the Tyler Mountain area for 65 years. She held various offices in the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women at Weekly and Brown United Methodist Churches. Ethel also served as president of the District of United Methodist Women and held various offices on the Interfaith Council, Tyler Mountain CEOs (formerly Tyler Mountain Homemaker's Club) and was Kanawha County District President of the Homemaker's Club. She was a charter member of Impact W. Va. and was elected Dean of the School of Christian Mission of W.Va. Wesleyan College. Ethel was always active in her church and community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gilmore Rinick (whom she married on Easter morning); daughter, Florence Lanham Hopp; sisters, Pauline Weyl, Evelyn Horne and brothers, Clifford and Ken Mosholder.

Survivors include her son Jim Rinick and his wife, Pat; daughters, Sondra Cardona and her husband, Juan of Cross Lanes, Pam Fagan and her husband, Warren of Nitro, Susan Hoving and her husband, Ron of Montana; sister, Helene Fitzgerald of New York; ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 16, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Scott Bandy, Pastor David Johns and Pastor Mark Pyles officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

For over three years, Ethel has resided at SunBridge of Dunbar. The family wishes to thank the staff for their loving and compassionate care and prayers.
