Obituary

Eva Frances Copley, 67, of Charleston, passed away on February 15, 2022 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in the company of family.

She was born on July 28, 1954 in West Hamlin to the late Evelyn Frances Messinger.

Eva was a beautiful, loving and supporting mother, grandmother and sister. She came from a large family and was dearly loved by all her family members. Eva will be remembered for her beautiful smile and charming laugh. Especially for making sure to tell you she loved you no matter what and was always there for friends and family. She loved spending time with her family and going to the country in Lincoln County where she was born. She worked in home healthcare.

She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Richard Byron Copley, who she was able to care for during his last days. She was also preceded by her sister, Mary Fay Hall; and her brother, Larry Lynn Turley.

Eva is survived by her brothers, Dorsey Gale Messinger, Alvin Ray Messinger and wife Nancy, and Eldon Keith Messinger; sisters Carolyn Sue Messinger and Pamela Pritchard Porter; sons, Timothy Byron Copley with Sonja Dotson and Richard David Copley; grandchildren, Makayla Nicole Copley, Nathaniel Byron Copley and Ethan Richard Copley; great-grandchild, Ariyah Faith Collins; loving nephew, Steven Messinger; niece Tashawna Messinger.; and grand-niece, Jasmine.

A special thanks to those at Thomas Memorial Hospital for taking care of her like she was one of their own.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Green Valley Cemetery, Madison Creek, where she will be laid to rest next to her mother, Evelyn.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
