Obituary

Evelyn Marie Coleman, 81, of Dunbar, went to her heavenly home at 4:20 a.m., April 14, 2019.

Known as "Granny", she was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Evelyn, along with her husband John, was a dedicated member of The Lions Club. She was also a member of Dunbar First Church of God and a caring and loving friend to many. Even though she will be missed deeply, we know she is in Heaven with no more suffering and no more pain.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John C. Coleman; parents, Dale and Mabel Winter; daughter, Sandra Coleman; grandson, Sean James ; brother, Ovle Winter; mother-in-law, Vesta Coleman ; and father-in-law, Nathaniel Coleman.

Evelyn will be deeply missed by her daughters, Pam James (Butch Thomas), and Penny Wilson Darryl), both of Dunbar; grandchildren, Billy James and Heather, of St. Albans and Carter Wilson of Dunbar; great-grandchildren, Alexa "Lexi", Johnna, and William "Will" James III; brothers, Eugene Winter (Bev), and Keith Winter (Bonnie); sisters, Evagene Bowen and Imogene Dinklocker; sisters-in-law, Pat Winter, Karen Jean (Bill), and Denise Carnell; brothers-in-law, Terry and David Coleman; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family wishes to thank all those that touched her life on her journey to Heaven; Hospice Care and all their workers; Stacy Jarrett, Sierra Jones, Brittany Hall, Laura Lesley, and special family friend, Regina Gay. They would also like to include all those that called, visited, sent cards and flowers, and lifted the family up in prayers.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. Billy Roe officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17 and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd W, Charleston, WV 25387, or Dunbar First Church of God Youth Group, 1234 Payne Ave, Dunbar, WV 25064.
