Evelyne Hollands passed away on August 10, 2015 after a brief illness. She was 79.
She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her gentleness and good nature. She had a 'Brooklyn' humor that allowed her to see the bizarre and absurd in any situation, and helped her weather life's challenges. Though she was born in New York, she called West Virginia home. It seemed to her neighbors that she had always lived next door. In some ways she always will.
Though we will miss her, we know that our loss is Heaven's gain. Her simple faith sustained her through life. It comforts us now to know that through faith she is "absent from the body" and "present with the Lord." (II Cor. 5:8)
Evelyne is survived by her son Richard, her daughter Elizabeth, her sisters Charlotte and Marilyn, and her brother Joe.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 15 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Doyle Smith officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
"Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26).
