Obituary

Everette R. Lee, 94, of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord, February 2, 2008, at his home surrounded by his family.

Everette inspired and touched the lives of many people. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He was born November 15, 1913 in Jackson County, the oldest son of the late Boyd and Minnie Hickman Lee. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II and worked at Dunbar Glass Co. in his teenage years until he went into the insurance business at the age of 18. He worked for Peoples Life Insurance Co. until he and his brother, Harold and fellow workers founded the Appalachian Life Insurance Co. in 1949. Everette was the Charleston District Manager and served on the Board of Directors until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Dunbar United Methodist Church. He loved life and people.

Everette was preceded in death by his first wife, Local B. Johnson Lee and by his brothers, William O. and Harold R. Lee.

Surviving are his wife, Oshel Carney Lee of Liberty; daughter, Patricia Martin and her husband, Richard; two grandchildren, Rebecca and her husband, Rusty and Ricky and his wife, Laurie; one great grandchild, Elijah of Cross Lanes.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Thomas E. Stevens, Jr. and the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 4, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
