Florence Helena Kay Green, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2008 after a short illness.
A life long resident of Dunbar, except for a short time living in Florida. She owned and operated her own beauty salon and loved genealogy and tole painting, as well as being a homemaker, and a member of Dunbar United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary Brotherton Kay; her husband David Green; her brother and his wife, James and Lorena Taylor Kay; nephew and his wife, James, Jr. and Mary Knapp Kay.
Florence is survived by her nephew and his wife, John and Linda Kay of Reynoldsburg, OH; two great nephews, Jason of Longmont, CO, Justin and Fabiola Kay of Recife, Brazil; great niece, Johnna of Reynoldsburg, OH; cousins, Marguerite and Mike Young, Hazel Kay and a host of other cousins and friends.
Many thanks go to Sherrie Taylor for the help provided in care giving and being available whenever needed. The family would also like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Sweetbriar, for their wonderful care of Florence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey Harless officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
