Frances Shamblin Bolen

Frances Shamblin Bolen, 91, of Hurricane, WV, formerly of Milton, passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at home.

Frances was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was known for her love of family. She loved watching her grandchildren in their athletic endeavors. She was a kind, gracious lady, always concerned about those less fortunate and our veterans. Frances was a proud graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, Class of 1952. She often spoke of the great many friends she enjoyed during these years. Frances retired from Union Carbide where she worked from many years as a Maintenance Clerk in the Sevin Unit, earning the respect of co-workers and supervisors. Most importantly, Frances had a great love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She would frequently speak of the grace and mercy He bestowed upon her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Bolen, and sons, Mike Bailey and Tracy Bailey.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Anna Bailey George (Mark) and Nancy Bailey Backus (John); her children by marriage, David Bolen an Devora McKinney; along with a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly and was loved dearly in return.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Mark Finley officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
