Frances Anita Cavender, 81, of Cross Lanes, passed on to heaven on Friday. April 26, 2019.

She was born and raised in Boone County, attended Charleston High School, and raised her four boy's in Dunbar. After retirement she resided in Charleston and she spent her final two and a half years under the loving care of her son, Jody and his wife Carol in Cross Lanes.

Anita was known for her laugh, her smile and her loving and selfless nature. She was a kind and gentle lady who worked hard her entire life to provide a better life for her boys and anyone else in need.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy Imhof of Elyria, OH; four sons, Danny Cavender of Murrieta, CA, Jody Cavender and his wife Carol of Cross Lanes, Dale Cavender and his wife Wendy of Garden Grove, CA, Dennis Cavender and his wife Lori of Glen Allen, VA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, April 29, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will be Tuesday, April 30, in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.

Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

She loved the work of the Shriners Hospital for Children. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in her honor to be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children at 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL, 33607.
