Obituary

France V. Finney of Dunbar, born March 9, 1928, passed into the arms of Jesus on February 21, 2011, at Thomas Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her husband and family.

She was a faithful member of Rebecca Chapel Church, where she sang in the choir until her health prevented her from doing this. She remained a faithful attendee until a month before her death. She always began her day by reading her Bible and having devotions.

Frances cherished vacations, visits with family, discussing scriptures and keeping her Sunday school teacher "on his toes" along with her beloved best friend for over 50 years, Helen Mitchell.

She was proud of the fact that, after retirement from Sears, she and George were able to travel, seeing all 50 states, with the exception of Alaska and Louisiana. They were also "Florida snowbirds" for 16 years during the winter months and made a host of friends while enjoying this. She had so much fun on family vacations to the beach, while her health was good, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her pride and joys.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, George W. Finney; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Ronald Boggess; sons and daughters-in-laws, Danny and Robin and Mike and Cathy, all of Dunbar; sister, Joyce Ford of St. Albans; grandchildren Beth Jenkins, Melissa Price, Jason Finney, Jamie Finney, Aaron Finney and Nathan Finney; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Brianna Miller, Madison Finney and Grace Finney.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 24, at Rebecca Chapel Church with Pastor Ronnie Nida of the Rebecca Chapel Church and Pastor Scott Bandy of Twin City Bible Church. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Special thanks go to Dr. John Lilly, Dr. Ganpat Thakker and Dr. Julie Haddy, as well as other. Also special thanks go to all the nurses on 3T (impossible to name them all) as well as Rita on 4P at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
