Obituary

Frances Louise McClure Hoffman, 97, of Dunbar, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 at Thomas Memorial Hospital.

Frances was born Aug. 4, 1909 in Middleport, OH, the daughter of Henry S. and Aluvia Murray McClure.

She graduated from Middleport (Ohio) High School in 1927 and was a lifelong homemaker. Frances was a member of the First Church United Methodist in Dunbar for 63 years. She was a member of the Dunbar Garden Club where she served as an officer and member for 36 years.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Raymond Hoffman, her brother, Paul Henry McClure and her daughter-in-law, Joann Pinell Hoffman.

She is survived by her three sons and their families, Jack S. Hoffman and his wife, Rosemary of Mineral Wells, granddaughter, Mary Stuart and her husband, Paul, great grandchildren, Melissa and Jeffrey all of Yarmouth, Maine and grandson, David Hoffman and great grandchildren, Sheryl and Daniel all of Concord, N. C; her son, Robert F. Hoffman of Millwood and grandchildren, Kathryn of Coatsville, PA. and Cynthia of Daytona Beach, Fl; and her son, William David Hoffman and his wife, Jean of Brunswick, Ga and their children, William David, Jr. of Alum Creek, WV and Vickie Carter and her husband, James M. Sr. great grandchildren, Taylor and James Murice, Jr. of Dunbar.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 22, at the First Church United Methodist, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m., Monday at the Miles Cemetery, Rutland, OH. She will be interred beside her husband and her father and mother.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, January 21, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Church United Methodist, 1401 Myers Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.
