Frances Priddy Jones, 79, of Dunbar passed away on May 2, 2012 at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was born in Laing, WV to the late Robert W. and Mary Priddy. She was a graduate of Dunbar High School and retired from Montgomery Ward after many years of loyal service. Frances, a longtime resident of Tyler Mountain, was a member of McKinnon Presbyterian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and foster granny at Dunbar Primary School. She truly enjoyed being a foster granny helping her students. Frances had four loves: Elvis, the Mountaineers, the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lionel D. (Chet) Jones; daughter, Victoria Lynn; sister, Jesse P. Justice; brother, George W. Priddy; and brothers-in-law, Jack Mallett, Clyde Phillips, and Warren Dunlap.
Frances is survived by her sons, Lionel "Te" Jones and wife Megan, Jeremiah "Hoss" Jones and wife Gail; grandchildren, Bethany and husband Drew Meighen, Ethan, Owen, Ericka, and Alexis Jones; great grandchildren, Luke and Kyle Meighen; loving and devoted sisters, Nancy Dunlap, Bobbie Mallett Phillips, and Mary Rucker and husband Raymond; brother-in-law, Rusty Justice; and cherished nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, May 4 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Services will be at 11 am Saturday, May 5 at Keller Funeral Home with her nephew, Pastor H.B. Carney, officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens.
