Francis "Frank" Erdely, 90, of Dunbar, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011.
Frank was born August 20, 1920 to the late Steve and Suzzanna Erdely. Mr. Erdely served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of First Church of God, Dunbar, and retired from Union Carbide with 34 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma J. Erdely; brothers, Steve Erdely, II, George Erdely; sisters, Margaret Erdely, Irene Zinn, Julia Stalbasky, Helen Carr; granddaughter, Rebecca Gregory.
Mr. Erdely is survived his son and daughter-in-law, Francis, Jr. and Sharon Erdely of Ocala, FL; stepsons and their wives, Howard and Trudy Bailes of Charleston, Tommy and Jo-Ellen Bailes; brother, Nick Erdely; sister-in-law, Mary Erdely; nephews, Steve Erdely, III of Ninety Six, SC, Terry Swartz of Carlisle, PA, Johnny Stalbasky of Richmond, VA; nieces, Linda McDonald of Concord, NC, Judy Hess of Abingdon, VA, Penny Sue Erdely of Kingsport, TN; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, at End of the Trail Cemetery, Clintonville, with the Rev. Dr. Larry McCallister, Sr. officiating.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, and one hour prior to the service at the cemetery on Wednesday.
