Frank Epperly, Jr., born March 25, 1925, passed away January 9, 2013, at the Hubbard Hospice House with his children by his side.
He was the son of the late Walter F. and Ella Adkins Epperly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty of 65 years. His sisters, Virginia Phalen, Christa Belle Young, and Betty Miller. Half brothers Dean Epperly and GayeAdkins. Half sisters, Kathleen Epperly and Bethaleen Phalen McCormick.
Frank is survived by his son, Michael (Jewel) and daughter, Sherry Fields (companion, Pete Porec, Jr.). Granddaughters, Tammy Fields, and Melissa Belcher (Anthony). Grandsons, Michael Epperly, Jr. (Michele) and Jose` Fields. Great Granddaughters, Paige Kidd, Nyla Sauter, Ashleigh Fields, Kamrin Epperly,Ta`Mya Chapman and Zen Fields. Great Grandsons, Sean Kdd, (Jessica), Jesse Clay, Danyeal Fields, Adam Ruffin, Kyle Epperly,Israel Fields. Great- great grandsons, Izaiah Kidd and Zak Kidd. Sisters, Mary Zell Ashworth (Vernie), and Janet Duffy. Several nieces and nephews.
In Frank's younger days he was known as Juneboy, Redeye and Preach.
Frank was a World War II Veteran, serving on the USS Brule in the Pacific Theater. He loved his country and his family, but, first of all he loved his Savior Jesus Christ. He was faithful to the Lord in excess of fifty years.
Frank was a member of the Church of God on Payne Ave. in Dunbar.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 12, at Keller Funeral Home, 1236 Myers Ave., Dunbar at 12 p.m. with the funeral beginning at 1 p.m. Rev. Randy Ledsome will be officiating. Frank will be laid to rest at Elk Hills Memorial Cemetery in Big Chimney.
The family would like to thank the employees of Quarry Manor for the care they showed to Dad in the years he lived there. To Dr. Thopsie Jagganath for his kindness and care and the Hubbard Hospice House for their compassion and kindness to Dad and his family.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to Hubbard Hospice House, or to the Gideon's in memory of Frank.
