Frank P. Justice, Jr., 73, the beloved husband of Eva Mae Justice, passed away Monday evening, March 12, 2012.

Frank was born in Wanego, WV, May 5th, 1938 to his parents, Frank P. Justice, Sr. and Jeneta Ruth (Cooley) Justice. He leaves behind his loving wife, Eva "Boots" Hartley Justice, three children and their spouses, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Frank earned a BSBA from WV State College in 1967 and an MBA in Finance from Marshall University in 1977 as well as post graduate work at the University of Louisville from 1971 to 1972. He was the first in his family to achieve a college degree and the first to obtain a masters degree.

He worked as a Reporter and then a Reporting Manager for Dun and Bradstreet, Inc. in Huntingon, WV from 1966-1968. Then as a Domestic Trade Specialist with the US Department of Commerce in Charleston, WV from 1968-1970. He then moved on to his long career with Ashland Oil, Inc. (now Ashland, Inc.) first as President and Investment Manager for their Equal Opportunity Finance subsidiary in Louisville and Ashland, KY from 1970-1993. He was promoted through various positions within the company including Vice-President of Public Affairs, Vice-President of Public Relations and Vice-President of Operations Support of Ashland Service Company and retired from the company in 1993. Post-retirement, he went to work as the Executive Director of the Research and Economic Development Center for Marshall University in Huntington, WV from 1993-1995, then as Vice-President of Development from 1995-1999 and finally as President of Marshall University Research Corp. He also served as the Associate Dean of Southwestern Community College, Whiteville, NC from 1999-2000, Director, Major Gifts, Marshall University from 2002-2003 and Director of the Roundtable Venture Fund in Charleston, WV from 1990-1996.

Frank also served on numerous board and philanthropic organizations including Vice Chairman of the Kentucky Center for the Arts in Louisville, KY, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Council on Economic Education, Director on the Marshall University Business Advisory Board, Director of the West Virginia State College Foundation, Inc., President of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Director on the Board of Delta Dental and eventually became a self-employed Realtor for Keller-Williams Realty in South Carolina.

Frank was inducted into the WV State University Hall of Fame in 1992 and the Marshall University Lewis College of Business Hall of Fame in 2005.

Frank spent much of his life working and raising a family while always pursuing his compassionate side of helping others including his family and the community.
