Frank Cornelius
Newsome
January 5, 1974 – August 24, 2021
Frank Cornelius Newsome Jr., 47, of Charleston, passed away on August 24, 2021.
He was born on January 5, 1974 in Ft. Campbell, KY to Edrema Newsome of Dunbar and Frank Newsome, Sr. of St. Louis, MO.
Frank graduated from South Charleston High School in 1992 and then attended West Virginia State College in 1994. He had a strong work ethic and was employed at Mountain Mission for 20 years. Frank dearly loved his co-workers, who nicknamed him "Hercules" due to the fact he could lift almost anything! He also held a second full-time position for over 15 years at REM helping handicapped individuals.
He was united in holy matrimony with Lisa Taylor Newsome on April 19. 1997. Their union was blessed with four children; daughter, Taylor and sons, Treyshaun, Trinten and Tayden Newsome.
Frank was a very loving, giving and caring person. He never met a stranger and was aways willing to help anyone he could. Frank was a devoted husband and father, loving son, a great brother, nephew, cousin and friend. We will certainly miss his humorous expressions that filled our hearts with joy.
He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Etta Baron of Kimberly; beloved father and mother-in-law, Mr. Walter L., Sr. and Mrs. Joan M. Taylor of North Charleston; brother-in-law, Walter Taylor, Jr. of Charleston; and uncle, Howard House of Dunbar.
In addition to his parents, wife and children, Frank is also survived by his brothers, Cortez Newsome of Cross Lanes, Jerry Newsome of Columbus, OH, Michael Nelson of Columbus, OH, Cornelius Newsome of Ft. Wayne, IN and Donnell Cage of Minnesota.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 30, at Charleston Mountain Mission Church with Bishop Michael Austin, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Charleston Mountain Mission Church.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
