Freda Mae Mallory, 94, of South Charleston, departed this life on Sunday, December 19, 2021, with her family by her side.
She was born on August 19, 1927 in Beckley to the late Adolph and Edith Dinkler.
Freda loved to quilt, making numerous ones for family and friends. She also enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Freda loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed it when her birds came back in the spring. Her favorites were humming birds and yellow finches.
Freda was baptized into the Church of Christ at an early age and later was a member at Mallory Chapel Church and Spring Hill Church of Christ for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Mallory; sister, Macel Stover; brothers, Sherman, James, Dennis, Adolph, and her twin brother, Fred; and her beloved grandson, Michael E. Frame.
Freda is survived by her children, Kenny Mallory (Connie) of St. Albans, Karen Whittard (Herb) of Charleston, SC, Doug Mallory (Penny) of Sterling, VA, Debbie Young (Gary) of South Charleston, Mike Mallory (Barb) of South Charleston, Elaine Pettigrew (Carl) of Cross Hill, SC, Annette Mallory of St. Albans, and Jill Cline (Jeff) of Readyville, TN; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren;19 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Steve Watts officiating. Burial will follow in Bailey Cobb Cemetery, South Charleston.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
