Gabriel Dallas "Elwood" Fields, 12, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 30, 2018.

He was born on January 10, 2006 in Charleston.

Elwood was a fifth grader at Malden Elementary School. He loved everybody, loved to help people and had a loving smile and heart. He loved to go fishing with his poppy.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Roscoe and Ruth Tucker, Ellen and Glen Fields, Robert and Julia Russell.

Elwood is survived by his mom, Charity "Tweety" Mitchell of Charleston; step-father, Josh Mitchell of Charleston; sister, Daisy Stevens of Charleston; grandparents, Curt and Linda Garnsay of South Charleston, Pete and Sherry Fields of Elkview, Nancy and Paul Lovell of Charleston; aunts, Alex Fields of South Charleston, Jade Fields of Hurricane, Alicia Clarke of Eaton Rapids, MI; uncles, Joshua Tucker of St. Albans, Glennis Fields Jr. (Rachel) of Charleston, Travis Fields (Alicia) of Charleston, Samuel Garnsay of South Charleston, Curt Garnsay II of Lansing, MI, Jeremy Russell of Ohio, Dominic Viramethi of Nitro, Christopher Russell (Pam) of St. Albans, Nicholas of Hurricane, Hunter Fields of Hurricane; and many many more family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 4, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Paul Coon officiating. Burial will follow in Frazier, Fields Family Cemetery, Gandeeville.

Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
