Gail Cardwell Black, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away on April 13, 2024, at the age of 59.
She was born on April 17, 1964, to Fiauna Brown Cardwell and the late Mark Cardwell, Jr.
Gail was a precious member of her family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength.
Gail is survived by her two sons, Ron Cardwell (Asiah), and Mario Black (Stephani), who were the pride and joy of her life. She adored her grandchildren, Phillip, Patience, Sevyn, Braezlyn, Kaenan, and Aspyn. Her love for them knew no bounds. Special nieces and nephews, Asia Brown (Damon), Tykeem, Zarionna, Paris, and Oaklyn. Special cousins, Jeffrey and Yvette Strickland, Lea Spencer-Ford, Julie Duiguid and Stephanie Phillips. Gail's unwavering devotion to her family was evident in every aspect of her life.
Also left to cherish her memories are her mother, Fiauna Brown Cardwell; her brother, Mark Cardwell (Latisha); her stepmother, Beverly Cardwell; and her special aunt and uncle, Betty, and JW Spencer. Gail's family was her rock, and she valued the special moments spent with each one of them.
Gail's life was characterized by her warmth and generosity. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
A celebration of Gail's life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Keller Funeral Home where friends and family will gather to honor and remember her.
Family will welcome visitors one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
