Obituary

Gary Wayne Brown, 65, of Charleston, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012.

Gary was a disabled veteran, who served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War with the 101st and the 82nd Airborne. For his service, Gary was awarded two Bronze Stars. He was also a member of the American Legion. Those that knew and loved him will no doubt remember his sense of humor among his many loveable traits.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Edith (Yates) Brown; and brothers, Bennie Joe Brown and Lowell Max Brown.

Gary is survived by his wife, Paulette Brown; son, Gary Brown Jr.; daughter, Hollie Ann Brown; step-sons, Robert and Paul Payne; brothers, John Brown, and Chester Brown; sisters, Marceda Mollohan, and Jane Godwin; and step-grandsons, Michael and Joseph Payne.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, August 25, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with John Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Alpha Cemetery.

Friends may call Saturday, August 25, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
