Gary L. Light, 57, of South Charleston, joined his Lord and Savior in Heaven at Hubbard Hospice House West on January 2, 2013, after a long illness.
He was born on October 9, 1955 and attended South Charleston High School. Gary most notably worked for the State of West Virginia Division of Homeland Security, General Ambulance Service, Valley Ambulance Service, LEASA, Putnam County EMS and also worked for the Marmet Fire Department.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Jeanette "Joy" Light; daughter, Heather (Travis) Snyder of St. Albans; son, Michael of Amherstdale; three step-children he loved like his own, Chrissy Foster of Lizemore, Tina (Jeremy) Adkins of Peach Orchard, Jesse Foster of Lizemore; six grandchildren he adored: Isaiah, Gracie, Alex, Logan, Jordan, Zoe; brother, Chuck Light and niece, Cassandra Light; aunt, Mary Alice Summerfield; cousin, Rick Summerfield, great niece, Isabella Light.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie Light, uncle, Wayne Summerfield, sister-in-law, Nancy Ann Light.
Friends and family can pay their respects to Gary and his family at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar, at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 5, with Pastor Randy Ledsome officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 4, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
