Gary Allen Nipps, 76, of Dunbar took his last breathe on April 9, 2023.

He graduated from Dunbar High School in 1965 and was a carpenter for Carpenters Local Union 1207. In retirement he and Pat enjoyed camping in their camper with their camping group. He also enjoyed his grandsons baseball games. He spent his last four years of life at Sweetbrier Assisted Living in Dunbar.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Pat; parents, Thomas and Pauline Nipps; and sister Sandy Lucas.

Surviving are his daughters, Melissa Darnall and her husband Jeremiah and Crystal Mitchell and her husband Dana; grandsons, Llayton and Gavin Darnall; sister, Brenda Norman; and cousins, Suzy Messer and Carl Honaker-Nipps.

The family would like to thank all of the caring staff at Sweetbriar Assisted Living.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 14 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 13 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
