Ms. Gazelle Garnett Davis was born in Fayetteville, WV on May 5, 1936 to her parents, Emma T. and Charlie Davis. She passed away on October 28, 2018.

Her early education was in Fayette County and finished in Kanawha County.

Momma Gay or Granny Gay, as she was called, gave her life to Christ at an early age. Her grandfather, the late Reverend J.M. Davis was one of the founding ministers of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she served the Lord as a choir member, lead usher, and head of the kitchen.

In the early 70's to the mid 80's, Granny Gay was a caregiver at her in-home daycare and later a care giver to anyone who asked her to help out with others in her community. Momma Gay never said no to anyone in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma T. and Charlie Davis; brother, Lee T. Davis Sr.; sister, Gertrude J. Morgan; son, Richard D. Davis.

Momma Gay leaves to cherish her memory, sons Paul A. Davis Sr. (Valencia) of Institute, Albert Robinson (Jeannie) of Charleston; daughter, Jackie V. Davis whom she lived with; special niece, Mozelle Weeden; special grandson, Andre Williams; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; two special friends, Mrs. Dorothy Dyess and Mrs. Gertrue Jackson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and many others.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 2, at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, South Charleston with Pastor Jeff Woods and Rev. Franklin Murphy Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
